A Dependable Traffic Generation Method - Pay Per Click Marketing

by admin on Oct.09, 2009, under Uncategorized

One of the easiest ways to employ in your plan to drive traffic to your site is pay per click marketing. This specific advertising model has been around since the late 1990?s and has been a channel of generating hits for many different businesses with an online presence.

Pay per click marketing is an excellent way to get the word about your company to a widespread audience. The procedure involves spotting an ad on various web sites that will forward an interested party back to your web site.

Part of the attraction of pay per click advertising is that the ad owner only pays when someone clicks on the ad and actually follows through to the web site.

When it comes to PPC advertising, never forget the importance of keywords. Essentially, keywords are words and phrases that are considered to be common modes of searching the Internet to discover desired content.

As an advertiser, your job is to come up with keywords that you believe are likely to take you to web sites that are relevant to the type of business site you currently operate. The rationale is that persons who visit those sites would most likely be interested in the content of your site.

If you manage to find the right web sites for your ads, then the chances of generating clicks to your site are much greater.

While the keyword mode of pay per click marketing is very common, there is also a second method. Known as content match PPC, the principle is still the same.

The main difference is that rather than basing the search on keywords, the results are based on the content of the site. As an example, if you run a site that is committed to gardening supplies, then it would be a natural for you to want to place ads on sites committed to gardening.

Content matching can be used right along with keywords to create a well rounded pay per click component in your overall publicity campaign.

Finding online resources to help you with the process of placing pay per click ads is relatively easy. One of the most popular approaches is to make use of the Google Adwords program. You can get started by identifying a inventory of pertinent keywords. You can also get help in designing the look of your ad, using online tools.

Adwords also includes a number of online tools, so you can keep track of how many hits get to your web site through those hits. This allows you to stay on top of how much pay per click is advertising is costing you each month. By comparing the sales that result from the hits with the cost of your pay per click campaign, you can determine if the program is making money for you.

An additional target for your pay per click campaign is online comparison shopping engines. These types of engines often are willing to provide feeds through the placement of ads on their searches.

Just as with the ads on informational web sites, persons can click through to your web site and see what you have to offer. Some of these sites provide you with the ability to see the number of hits, while others do not. Payment for placing the ad on the shopping comparison site may be in the form of a fixed monthly amount or based on a fixed rate per click.

Keep in mind that there is no such thing as an exclusionary pay per click agreement. This means you can sign up with as many keyword and shopping ad services as you like. In fact, you may do very well to try out some different services, to see which ones seem to provide you with the best matches and coverage.

If resources for advertising are limited, go with a well known service, and then add more services as your income stream grows to the point where you can afford to do so. Bear in mind that your objective is to build a reliable basis for your web site, so it may take some time before you begin to see results.

Pay no attention to stories about overnight success. Odds are you will go about it 6 months to a year before you see major traffic that result in sales.

Pay per click marketing is often an affordable way to launch your advertising campaign. The cost per click is often a fraction of a cent, so it certainly will not cost a great deal, except you happen to get a huge number of visitors clicking through to your site, or target high-priced keywords.

The law of averages would dictate that of that huge number, enough sales would result to make your outlay in the pay per click program well worth your time and the expense.

Powerful Words When Marketing

by admin on Jul.02, 2009, under Video Promotion

When marketing online it is very important that you use powerful words. When I get asked questions about my online success there are two reasons that I give. First is dedication and second is marketing ability. Dedication is of course a must when you are trying to learn internet marketing and then you will also need dedication to be successful when marketing a website. Now after you learn the basics of marketing online you will know that increasing your web presence is crucial, but it is also important when promoting your website or blog on promotional platforms to use words which people will click on. This usually takes quite a bit of practice mixed with some trial and error. The most important thing when beginning an online endeavor is to never give up keep trying testing and remember the great websites out their did not reach the top in a day.

You may be asking yourself what is a powerful word? Death, hate, love, conspiracy, really any word that you would see in a tabloid is a power word. When marketing it is good to try and either upset or excite your web traffic. Now after reading words from some of the great internet marketers I notice the ability they have to pump up the traffic to their website. Let say you enjoy throwing up classified ads for your website and you are in the niche of selling something boring like shoes. Now if you want to be like the 90% of boring webmasters put something like ?shoe sale?, ?selling shoes?, or other very plain bland crappy title. Now if you want to be like the 10% selling shoes and making money doing so then place something exciting within the title of your ads. You may have to exaggerate what your site is and/or about, but to stand out your title must be something to push past the rest. Now if for some reason I thought I could make money selling shoes and wanted to excite my customer rather than picking a title such as ?shoe sale? or something else bland I would put some thought into it and come up with something a little different such as ?Walk on Air? or ?Crushing Blow To Shoe Stores Everywhere? these are two just off the top of my head. Which ones do you think you would be more likely to click on if you were browsing the classifieds looking for shoes?

Do not go overboard when advertising your site. Even though it is a play on words sometimes I have seen internet marketers go too far when marketing their website. Now if I were to say in the title of my ad ?free shoes? and not even have a sale going on then this will probably piss some people off. Do not piss off the wrong people!! If you want to lose credibility and have your website blacklisted all you have to do is piss off a blogger with a couple hundred thousand followers who also blog and have thousand of their own followers. If you screw someone like this over then you are looking at an attack of epic proportions so DON?T flat out lie when promoting.

How To Promote Your Website Or Blog With Forums

by admin on Jul.02, 2009, under Video Promotion

This is a very touchy subject since the majority of forum admin really hate the fact that people are always trying to spam their forum. Now if they decide they had enough and either decides to take off signatures or make the entire forum ?nofollow? then usually it turns out that the majority of webmasters leave since they lose the benefit of link juice. I know it sound greedy, but what webmasters and bloggers that understand website promotion and use the internet to earn money online know that time is potential backlinks and exposure. So if a blog does not allow links, sigs, or is no follow then you are usually loosing time which you could be spending much more productively.

On the other hand online marketing is not only about backlinks and when you are in a forum in no way should you place your link where it does not belong. Forums can be an excellent place to gain thousands of one way (sometimes high PR if the post is linked to extensively) backlinks. When people participate in forums they of course should have links on their mind, but also always be trying their best to help the community anyway possible. Forums are a great place not only to learn, but build friendships and possible cross promotional partners. Use webmaster forums to find people within your niche once you build up a friend ship the possibilities are endless for promotional endeavors. One of my favorites is doing reviews for high priority backlinks. You should also be concerned with finding forums within your niche personally I am in the website marketing niche and the make money niche. Both of these have quite a few forums which I use and have been helpful.

When you first start in a forum it is difficult to see the forum as a community and not just a place to either spam or spout off how much you know. When you make a point and you are not an expert in the field it is important to mention so or you will be flamed by all the experienced webmasters calling your point crap. If you explain that is what you think then rather a stream of people telling you that you know nothing they will probably take the time to explain why you are wrong. It is also very important that you remain friendly when starting out in a forum. There will be quite a few of the older webmasters who may be unfriendly to your ideas and they may even be mentors or moderators let them say what they want to say and keep your mouth shut until you have a leg to stand on when arguing. If you are friends with the forum admin then you can tell them exactly what you think; I have just noticed that many new comers do not know when to keep their mouths shut and end up getting kicked off within the first week of participating. I understand that it is sometimes difficult to not take what people are saying even online personal, but you must get past the first few weeks or months on a forum before you will be accepted. You will know you are accepted when the moderators are backing you up rather than telling you to shut up.

Marketing In Web 2.0

by admin on Jun.28, 2009, under Uncategorized

Well it is safe to say the old static websites are becoming a thing of the past and for those who really count on the web to make money online are realizing that they need to move forward and incorporate interactivity into their websites. Before we get into how to market with Web 2.0 websites we must first understand the definition of Web 2.0. The basic description of Web 2.0 is the transformation of the web from a static server bases network to an interactive virtual world where the users now consist of anyone that has an internet connection rather than only those who new programming. So how can the old webmasters keep up with this ever changing world of online marketing mediums. Really it is simple you must first join the many out their utilizing all of them in your marketing campaign and at the same time be actively looking for new ones coming out. First I would like to cover the major websites that anyone trying to market online should be affiliated with.

Personally I have found it useful to categorize the types of Web 2.0 websites that are useful for online marketers. The first and most important for any marketer to be a part of is the blogosphere. There are a couple of ways to take advantage of this unique online world. First is to set up your own blog at blogger.com or wordpress.com both make it incredibly easy to build a web presence. A little tip if you really want to succeed when marketing with a blog is to treat it as its own platform rather than just a support for your main website. What this means is take the time to market and place unique content on your blog equal to your website or other main web presence. The second way you can use the blogosphere as a marketing platform is to network with the bloggers within your niche and to do this the first step is to comment on their blogs. Blog commenting will help you in two ways first if the blog is do follow then you will receive a backlink and second if you say something nice and/or interesting about their blog more than likely they will come check out your website and if they like it they may talk about it in one of their future posts.

The next type of website that every webmaster and blogger should be utilizing in the world of web 2.0 is social bookmarking. Websites such as digg.com and stumbleupon.com offer webmasters the chance to suggest websites to a community and receive both a backlink to their website and if their website is interesting or useful enough to the community voting the chance to reach the top page of the social bookmarking website which in turn will get you tons of referral traffic from the social bookmarking website. This is an excellent place to announce the launch of a new web presence and I have found it just as useful as press releases. Really they both do the same thing the only difference is the social bookmarking is its own platform where you will find exposure and press releases rely on your website being picked up by news sources by reporters. I guess both you should be fitting in to your marketing campaign.

The last type of Web 2.0 that I will be discussing for this article is social networking which tend to be used by internet marketers as networking platforms rather than marketing mediums. When you build a website it is crucial to have interactivity between you and your visitors as well as you and potential partners within your niche. Myspace.com, facebook.com, and twitter.com have made this extremely easy just set up your account listing the URL?s of your web presences and talk about each one. You can also talk about upcoming projects and updates really anything that has already happened and anything upcoming make for excellent content on these resources. Note that these should not be used for promotion, but rather a place for communication.

Free Is Good! Five Ways To Give Away Free Stuff And See Website Traffic Increase

by admin on Jun.23, 2009, under Uncategorized

Everyone loves to get something for free. This is true of almost everyone who frequently surfs the web as well. Website operators are constantly looking not only for ways to attract new visitors, but also ways to keep them coming back. If you are looking for a way to increase website traffic, consider using a tactic such as the ?Give Away?. By giving away free stuff on your site, you will likely attract many more visitors. You can also keep these visitors coming back frequently by offering new free stuff each month. If you are interested in see the results of your website traffic improve, then consider using these five ways to give away free stuff.

Donated Goods

You may be interested in trying to give away free stuff on your website, but you may not be willing to spend your own money in doing so. If this is the case, there are options for you. You can always network with other companies who will essentially give you their products to showcase and give away from your site. Local businesses are the first place to look, as they usually are very willing to help fellow town citizens. You can also go to larger corporations if you know exactly who to contact and make sure they realize that they too would be receiving free advertising from allowing you to showcase their products. Usually you won?t get enough products each month to offer to every visitor, so make sure you mention that only the first 30 (or the equivalent of products you have) visitors who sign up will receive the products.

Monthly Contests

Website visitors love contests and many of them are willing to visit the same sites each day just to enter to win something free. Therefore, by offering free stuff through a contest, you are likely to get visitors to return on a daily basis. Set the rules to state that each visitor can only enter once a day if you like. Purchase a good prize or get one donated and give it away to the random name drawn from the entries. This is a great way to get the attention of many consumers, especially if your prizes are extra interesting and worthy.

Personalized Items

One interesting tactic is to give away merchandise with your website?s name or your business?s name on them. Items such as shirts, hats, towels, cups, and key chains are perfect for this task. The idea is to keep people coming to your site for free stuff as well as to look around. The extra perk with this strategy however, is to allow them to be your advertisers as well. If they wear one of these items out in public, there are likely thousands of people who will be exposed to your business passively. This is a great idea and can be done through many methods including contests or loyal customer incentives.

Referral Prizes

If you really want to spread the word on your website and get more traffic than ever, you should consider giving referral prizes. You can set your system up to allow each visitor to send an automated email from your site asking him or her to visit. If the visitor is willing to offer up 10 or 20 valid email addresses, then you can offer them a free prize. The prize can be as small or large as you wish. This is the perfect way to get more traffic while also rewarding those that are helping you along the way.

Reminder Emails

After you choose the method of how you plan to give your free stuff away, consider offering reminder emails to those who love to participate. You can offer initial free stuff to those that sign up, like a key chain. This is a great way to get that traffic to continue after the visitor?s initial visit. You can remind them monthly that there are new things to see at your site and they will likely visit more often. You can also use this not only to remind them of free stuff being given away but also to tell them about deals or other offers you have for them as well. They are likely to forward these emails on to friends they think might be interested as well.

Why Advertise On Craigslist?

by admin on Jun.23, 2009, under Uncategorized

Advertising on Craigslist is worthwhile for just about any business offering products or services. Whether these products are offered through ecommerce websites or physical stores, the business owners can see financial gains through advertising on Craigslist. Firstly unlike other advertising opportunities there is very little risk involved in posting on Craigslist. With the exception of job postings and housing postings in specific markets, advertising is free on Craigslist. Users are asked to agree to the terms of service of the community and are expected to follow specific guidelines when posting advertisements but there are no financial obligations to those placing advertisements on Craigslist. This means those who post advertisements do not have to be concerned with whether or not the advertisement they place will meet their expectations in terms of sales generated.

Reaching Potential Customers on Craigslist
Another reason why posting advertisements for products or services on Craigslist is so worthwhile is the likelihood of reaching a large audience of potential customers. A review of the Craigslist fact sheet reveals pertinent information regarding the amount of traffic the website receives. According to this information Craigslist receives approximately four billion page views each month with ten million people using Craigslist each month. From these statistics it is clear that advertisements placed on Craiglist are likely to receive at least some attention from potential clients.

With so many visitors using Craigslist each month the advertising possibilities are limitless, however, there are no guarantee any of these visitors will be interested in your products or services. Like any marketing campaign, your advertisements on Craigslist must be intriguing, informative and in a location where you will reach your target audience.

Finding Your Target Audience on Craigslist
We?ve already discussed the number of visitors using Craigslist each month but the key to taking advantage of these numbers is to target your advertising in a way aimed at reaching your target audience as opposed to a wide audience of individuals who have no specific interest in your products or services. It is much more worthwhile to reach a small audience of those with a keen interest in your products or services than to reach a much larger audience of those who are not interested. Those who have an interest in your products or services are your target audience.

The key to reaching your target audience on Craigslist is placing your advertisement in the most appropriate locations. Craigslist has a specific section for businesses to advertise their services. This section is broken down into a number of categories. Those who are in the business of computer repair would be wise to place their advertisement in the computer section as opposed to the automotive section because individuals looking for computer help will naturally migrate to the computer section. It may sometimes be appropriate to place an advertisement in more than one section. This is acceptable as long as it does not cross the line to spamming the section.

If there is not a specific section for the products or services offered by your business there are a couple of options. Business owners can place an advertisement in the section for small business advertisements where it might be found by those doing a search in this section. Alternately the business owner can contact Craigslist to suggest the addition of a new category. They might be willing to oblige if they believe this category warrants an addition.

The Difference between Advertising and Spamming
Advertising on Craigslist is one thing but spamming is quite another. Placing an advertisement in an appropriate section of Craigslist is acceptable; however, placing the same advertisement in nearly every section of Craigslist websites for a number of different geographical regions is considered spam. Spam is ineffective for a number of reasons. First of all potential customers who see a particular advertisement in a number of different locations are likely to recognize the spamming techniques and be less inclined to patronize this business. Also, if Craigslist detects the practice of spamming they may delete all of the postings and could potentially ban advertisements from the individual in the future.
